Semi Anechoic Chambers used for EMC testing is composed of:
1) RF Shielded Enclosure (Room or Chamber)
2) RF Absorbing materials (ferrite tiles and/or absorbers)
3) Ground floor (since it is semi-anechoic)
4) Lighting (with low emissions)
5) Antenna
6) Turntable (optional for remote controlling and automated testing)
7) Audio & Video monitorin systems (optional)
8) Antenna mast to scan the antenna (optional)
9) RF cable (between antenna and the semi anechoic chamber wall)
10) I/O panel on the chamber’s wall or floor
11) Power Line and Signal Line EMI Filters on the outside walls of the chamber (to filter the incoming power and signal lines)
Semi anechoic chamber, shortly SAC, is used for both radiated emissions and radiated immunity EMC tests of electrical / electronic products. If you are developing or manufacturing electronic products or systems and you have any budget, having this type of chamber in house would make EMC compliance of your products easier. Why?
